Lee Kum Kee Lantern Wonderland – Golden Moon

HONG KONG, 27 September, 2012 – the Lee Kum Kee Lantern Wonderland once again serves as the heart of the celebrations with another award-winning lantern structure, which this time brings to life the passion of Chinese Mid-Autumn mythology in a dynamic and innovative visual rendering.

This centrepiece attraction, featuring an LED light and sound show, is called Golden Moon, gold being associated with the colours of autumn and good fortune. Standing approximatey 18 metres tall and 21 metres wide, the structure is constructed of bamboo, steel, stretch fabric and LED lights.

Golden Moon sits in a pool with dozens of floating Chinese lanterns. Inside the structure, you can experience a variety of lighting effects from suspended Chinese lanterns.

Golden Moon is the result of a design competition organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and supported by the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, the Hong Kong Designers Association and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects.

How to get there :

• MTR Causeway Bay Station Exit E. Walk along Great George Street until you reach the park.
• MTR Tin Hau Station Exit A2. Turn left at the exit and continue ahead until you reach the park.

In conjunction with Lantern Wonderland, the HKTB will set up a lantern corridor, a Mid-Autumn market and cultural performance in Victoria Park during the same period.
